April Showers Bring...?
May flowers, spring produce, striped clothing, puppies in raincoats, and more!
Happy Tuesday! It has been so rainy and gross in Columbus the past week, so I am lapping up the sunshine today. If only it wasn’t a shocking 40 degrees again. We truly got spoiled with the 70+ degree days earlier in March that I forgot what true spring weather feels like. I’m sure once it hits 90 degrees later this summer I’ll be wishing for this kind of weather.
I started acupuncture last week which was great but the most shocking part of the visit was the practitioner telling me to stop eating + drinking cold foods. I’ve been down this path of natural medicine for quite awhile now and had never heard that before. It threw me for a loop because I realized that I mainly eat cold foods; yogurt, smoothies, fruit, salads, matcha, etc. I’m trying to find some compromises there like having no cold items in the morning but it’s hard. Hoping this frustration heals my hormone issues like I’ve been told.
On that note — any fun warm recipes that are easy for breakfast + lunch?

Two easy and flavor packed recipes for you this week! Why did no one tell me that homemade hummus is so fun to make?? I think I’ve always been intimidated to make it with dried beans because of the soaking + cooking process but once you soak them overnight (no effort needed) they take 1.5-2hrs to cook. I threw them on while working, let them cool, and then blended them up while I was making lunch. LOVE!
When The Absorption Co reached out asking if I’d make a mango mojito, it was the easiest yes ever. I love the minty citrusy tang of a mojito and pairing it with mango bring a lovely sweetness. Highly recommend trying this weather you’re blessed with 70 degree or 40 degree weather right now.

It’s light, refreshing, and has no weird after taste. This was a great follow up conversation to my original chat with GoodOnya’s founder Kris Buchanan! Check out everything below <3

I don’t know why I haven’t made my own hummus more often. This was so simple and delicious, that it may become my Sunday sauce. I highly recommend!
Nothing screams warm weather like a mojito. If I’m ordering a cocktail once it hits 75 degrees, it’ll definitely be this. Get ready to be hydrated and refreshed with this tropical version of my favorite mocktail.

As soon as I’m in my new kitchen I’m trying this recipe for vanilla bean mascarpone mousse. I haven’t stopped thinking about it in weeks. I mean Red Currant Bakery always hits it out of the park with her recipes, so I shouldn’t be surprised.
Two other home items for you: I’ve been eyeing these poplights for what feels like years now and it might be time to pull the trigger. The vibe we’re going for would lend to these beautifully. Who knew a shower curtain could be so beautiful? Certainly not me but after seeing this one, I’m obsessed. I also saw this one but at $152 for a shower curtain…I think not.
We’ve all seen the marry me chicken recipes, so allow me to raise you this recipe for marry me lentils. The photo has me drooling. I happen to remember lentils exist every 6mo and then want them in everything. I’m currently going through one of those spurts. <3
I love a stripe moment and this specific shade of purple, so catch me wearing this shirt very soon lol. Speaking of stripes, these yellow striped cotton pants are a stellar dupe for the very expensive versions out there.
I got a pair of these socks a few weeks back while I was in Chicago and now I want to replace all of my socks. They are 90% cotton and dyed in LA. Plus they come in so many fun colors. I got the light pink!
I love The Cutting Room Floor podcast and after seeing her wear this sweater, I can’t stop thinking about it. The fit is just so good and I love the U shaped neckline.
Kailo recently launched, you’ll hear from the founder on the pod soon, and I’ve been loving the PB&J bar! Great ingredients and no weird sweetener lol.
