Cheffing Up for the Holiday Weekend

Happy Tuesday! The past week felt like a whirlwind. I have quite a few project sprinting towards the finish line right now and lots of things to test + shoot. I love being busy but sometimes it feels like my head is going to fly off my body.
This weekend my friends and I are renting a river house. I’m pumped to be outside and to have a break from my normal routine. Wes and I are in charge of cooking Friday night, so this is what the plan is:
Veggie & dips snack board
Burgers w/ all the fixings
Hot dogs w/ all the fixings + Hailee Catalano’s Giardiniera
Pasta salad w/ snap peas, carrots, lots of herbs, mini mozz balls, pepperoni cubes, pickled shallots, pepperoncinis, balsamic evoo dressing
Some sort of berry pie or cookies
Nothing too crazy! I have a feeling that after grilling this weekend I’ll be scouring FB Marketplace for a grill haha.

I told you that once I started using my ice cream making…I’ll never stop. Last week I bought so much fruit because it was incredibly abundant everywhere I went. Most of it was eaten during snack hour but I felt like the cherries would shine the brightest in a dessert. This sorbet is very cherry forward but is balanced out with orange-mint infused simple syrup. Bright & refreshing & on color theme for this weekend.


I am obsessed with these pants!! If it wasn’t 100 degrees out right now and I could fathom the thought of wearing pants, they’d already be on their way to me. I saw Tess wear them and just can’t get enough. Also - definitely think she’s writing a cookbook right now. How do I get on some publishers’ PR lists?? lol
I’ve had this necklace on my Pinterest board for so long. It’s so elegant and I feel like I have the perfect outfit to wear this with. White linen dress + pink/orange striped cardigan. Could me the perfect bday outfit 🫢
The Tonca bag from Polène has been on my mind since I saw this photo. Butter yellow just feels like an elevated neutral imo. That bag is out of stock, so I’m eyeing this one. Speaking of the color, I love this linen button down from Reformation.
My go-to na beverage when I’m out is a lime & salt Ghia can but recently I’ve been very into ginger. I am usually staunchly against ginger in beverages but something about that little kick when its blazing hot out is very much welcomed now.
Someone tell me if these shoes are ugly. I have been searching for a pair of mary-jane style sneakers because I thought they’d be so cute with summer outfits but it’s proving challenging. Every time I find a cute pair they are sold out. So far these Salomon’s are not — this is the gal I saw wearing them that put me on.
As you may know I picked up my first East Fork Pottery items the other week. I snagged their Breakfast Bowl in Black Mountain and I’m currently eyeing a multi-colored set. It is the perfect sized bowl for obviously break but also snacks, side salads, dips, chips, soup, and more. Honestly, my ideal bowl and I love the idea of having a few different colors.
Okay, so, I went to the Le Creuset factory sale this weekend and only got 2 things. There’s a few items I’d like to add to my collection at some point and then I feel kinda done? Here’s what I’m thinking…egg cup, S&P mills, stock pot, and a saucepan.
