Quality Time In The Sun
my love for lemon Spindrift, farmers market plums, bundles of sunflowers, olive oil ice cream, aged maple vinegar, face scrubs, silver home accents
Happy Tuesday! I spent the weekend at a river house and I’m not who had a better time me or Harlow. We played yard games, relaxed in the shade, grilled hot dogs & hamburgers, made s’mores, and spent quality time with friends. Such a lovely reset.
We visited the local farmers market and I snagged some plums + a bouquet. I’m thinking of making a frangipane tart with halved plums. This is the visual inspo.

A few recipes of mine were shared on IG over the weekend! Cashew parm bloody mary’s for when you want to spice things up, a mezze trio perfect for hosting, and decadent olive oil ice cream. The full recipes are available on Substack.

This week’s podcast guest is Guilherme, founder of MILKish, a brand new alt-milk brand made from watermelon seeds. The milk is delicious and tastes fabulous in an iced matcha. I loved learning his POV on the environmental challenges of alt-milk and where he hopes the brand will lead him in the future.
A few things inspiring me this week:

When I say this is the best thing I’ve ever made, I mean it and you’re probably sick of hearing me talk about this project. The olive oil brings such a depth of rich, fattiness to the ice cream that is so decadent. The flecks of vanilla beans bring a floral element and help cut the richness of the evoo. PLEASE MAKE THIS!
Every get together needs a dip or two or three ;) This dip trio is comprised of baba ghannouj, beet hummus, and labne all dressed up with lemon tahini. They are quick and easy to make but really bring the flavor. Serve alongside pita and crudités.

My drink of choice over the holiday weekend was a lemon Spindrift. I’m never one to chug sparkling water on the regular but there is just something about this flavor. SO refreshing, tart, and delicious. I was downing them like it was my full time job which kept me happy and hydrated in the heat. I immediately purchased a case when I got home.
Barrel Aged Maple Syrup…yep. Need it expeditiously! Fermented with tart and crisp Hudson Valley apples and 100% pure New York state Grade A, maple syrup, this raw and unfiltered vinegar 'with mother' is full of complex flavor. Aged for over six months in new toasted oak barrels.
I made a cake over the weekend for a work project and the start of the show was blood orange infused olive oil. It brought the most decadent flavor to the cake that I was astonished.
I scooped up this face scrub from Upcircle because my skin has been feeling so congested recently and wow. It is so soft and much brighter now. I will definitely be using this on a regular basis.
I’ve really been into chrome accents around the house. Maybe it’s because we have so much dark wood accents in the new place and silver offsets it well but nonetheless I have my eye on a few things. This lily shaped incense holder is to die for and would look beautiful as a coffee table accent piece. & I love this silver tray to put on my newly recovered ottoman (pics to come). This shell and egg cup are also cute.
Pink! chrome! shoes! I have been looking for a pair of all pink sneakers and these might just be the ones I pull the trigger on.
ISO: a skirt that looks like this! I saw it on Pinterest & I can’t get this outfit out of my head.
Podcast: I really enjoyed the recent episode of This is TASTE with Aimee France!
